The gentleman in this photo is Albert Aldis,he aquired his first vehicle, an Overland Chain drive, with solid rear tyres, in 1922, and carried on with his service from "The Gun" (Wolsey Gardens, Felixstowe Town.) to Bawdsey Ferry, past retirement age. (taken from the book-"The Hamlet of Felixstowe Ferry", published in 1990 (Pictures from the Past.)
I moved with my family to Felixstowe in 1968, and he was still running the service for several years after that!!
