Hospitals, unless we are lucky most of us have to either for ourselves or for others have to use them sometime in our lives.Well if it isnt one bug its another and now theres not enough beds etc. etc.Its enough to scare the life out of you when its your turn to be admitted. Youve guessed it its my turn next week for a major op.Im putting on a brave face so no one knows im terrified.Anyway on a positive note ill keep you in touch with my experience in two weeks time,i can hardly wait. from Barbara Ball

Yes they did have a bed empty for me,No I didnt catch one of the dreaded bugs, well not quite. My op went well,I decided on regional anaesthetic, where the spine is injected and although i was awake I felt no pain. Then the   following day I developed all the symptoms,i wont go into detail.Iwas quickly isolated put on a fast drip and put in a soundproof room ,It was a horrible 24hrs but I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics and lived to tell the tail. The food, well I wasnt well enough to eat much, but even the toast was awful,If I had to go in again i would pack a hamper. The nurses, doctors and all staff are wonderful .The cleaning neads modernising but i suppose the money isnt there for new equipment.I am recovering very well, thanks to one very special person, family and friends
