Extra day's bank holiday

It has been suggested to the prime minister that we should have a extra day's bank holiday in order to celebrate as a community and thank those who do work in the community.I would like to make a suggestion.That the Monday following Remembrance day be granted a bank holiday.We could all take time out to reflect the past and the present and take a break between the summer holiday's and Christmas.Any other idea's.John

There is a petition circulating the web for making the Monday after Remembrance Sunday a Bank Holiday. Sadly, I can't get it at this moment as my E-mail system is 'Unavailable' for some unknown reason. If I can get hold of it, I will post it here for you.

An extra bank holiday sounds like a great idea! I run my own businesses and that takes a huge amount of time. We sell wedding invitations which is very seasonal so at some times of the year we are extremely busy and at others we are quiet. That is the trouble with running a seasonal business like a wedding invitations suppliers. An extra bank holiday would be great at our quitier times of the year but if it were top of the wedding invitations season I would probably feel differently. Anyway, back to work preparing for January which is the busiest time of year for us wedding invitation suppliers.

I would agree insomuch as business which are holiday dependant would benefit greatly by a new holiday. It has absolutely nothing to do with my desire for more time off :)

I am also a designer of wedding invitations, as GT666, so agree that the start of the year is very busy in our office so another bank holiday would be most welcome!
