Two-time World Heavyweight Champion Herbie Hide picks independent bookseller

In Great Yarmouth, for his only promotional signing in Norfolk.

Former World Heavyweight Champion and contender for the 2009 Cruiserweight title Herbie Hide invites you to join him as he recounts his experiences in the ring.

‘Books Inside’ are delighted that Herbie has picked the independent bookseller as the only venue in Norfolk to promote his new book ‘Herbie Hide. Nothing but Trouble: My Story’.

Herbie was born in Nigeria, but raised in Norfolk and now lives in Norwich. He is one of only two fighters from the UK to twice hold the World Heavyweight title, but still very little is known about him.

“As long as I have been a professional fighter, people have looked upon me as the bad boy of boxing – the pantomime villain whom the audience loves to hate. Even though I have enjoyed a more successful career than all but a handful of Britons, I have never experienced the support and adulation of a Lennox Lewis or a Frank Bruno...it does have its advantages because, wherever I go and whatever I do, people will always be interested.”

In the book Herbie writes about his early days as the only black kid in a Norfolk boarding school, his career-defining fights against some of the toughest opposition the international boxing world could muster and the tragedy of losing his younger brother to leukaemia. He reveals more about his colourful life outside the ring which has seen him run up against gangsters and con-men and his brush or two with the long arm of the law.

Hi,
Really sorry to dissapoint you, but this was an event that we did last year. For some reason it hasn't been removed from the Let's Talk forum! Herbie did an event with us last year because his book had just been published in Hardback. Unfortunately we have nop future events with Herbie planned.
Again sorry for the inconvenience but thanks for the interest!
