If you run a club which needs new members, or have a special interest you want to share, let us know. And if you want to find out about how to get involved with people who share your interests, post a message and see who else you can meet in our region. If you aren't sure how to use these forums, take a look at the New Forums FAQ thread on the home page of the message board.

A&J Fundraisers Club

JanetH 14/09/2007, 8:35 PM
A&J Fundraisers Club was formed in 2004 by Janet Hobart and Tony Turner to raise money for the Thundersley Little Havens Children's Hospice.  We are now joined by many friends and family members who help at our fundraising events.  We hold a large olde tyme vintage rally each August and have two live music concerts planned for the near future.  Our donations to date have been £2140 in 2004, £6000 in 2005, £7125 in 2006 and sadly only £5000 in 2007 due to dismal wet weather on the day which kept visitor numbers low.    We shall be moving to a new site in 2008 for our August rally, which is much larger and where we have far more scope for different activities.  It will be an exciting and challenging time for us next year and we are always looking for more voluntary help.  If you would like to become involved, contact Janet on 01245 473359 or email janethhobart@hotmail.com.  The Hospice has to raise £2.1 million each year and is open to children from 0 to 18 years who sadly have life limiting and life threatening illnesses.  Very little monetary help comes from the Government purse, so fundraising activities are essential to keep the Hospice open for the children who need the excellent first rate care which is provided there.

Now that we're in the digital age, photography is becoming more popular than ever.  Kodak no longer has a grip on our purse strings meaning we can click away to our hearts content for free.

So, only one year ago we formed CASTON CAMERA CLUB and already as I write we have 43 members.  Find out more about this friendliest of clubs that serves the Wayland area of south west Norfolk by visiting www.castoncameraclub.org.uk

Well we're a couple of years further on now and at CASTON CAMERA CLUB the membership is up to 75.  We are doing very well and in the interim we have purchased a few items of equipment for the club to ensure we are able to give members real value for money and good entertainment at club meetings.

We cover Watton, Wayland villages, Breckland and anywhere in Norfolk that's within striking distance.  In truth we are between 3 and 4 miles south of Watton and about 7 miles west of Attleborough.  We actually have members come  to us from as far away as King's Lynn, so we must be doing something right!

If photography interests you then do have a look at our web site www.castoncameraclub.co.uk   All the details of how to join or even how to come along as a visitor are all there and we're very keen to meet members who are beginners as well as those a little more experienced.
