Sorry I have not responded before. The Canning factory is also where my mother and sister worked during the war. Do you remember those fruit trees forming the border of the factory? Plums for the taking - the foreman never chased us kids away as we filled our mouths and pockets with dark red plums. It was a wartime treat!
