Oranges and lard
Anyone else remember the oranges and lard being washed up on the beach between Overstrand and Suffield park. This was about 1948-9. I lived on Grove rd Suffield park with my parents, Ruth and Ron Gibbons sisiter Margaret and brother Alan. I can remember alot of the familes that lived on this road. Bumphreys, Laycock, West, (they still live there) Cox, Blogg, Deary, Hill, Falkard, Simpsons,Loveday,Davies. I live in Stalham now and in my 70th year as so many of those children would also be. I have a website if anyone is interested to get touch with me . Thank you Elizabeth

Re: Oranges and lard
REMEMBER LARGE BALES OF LARD BEING WASHED UP ON FRINTON BEACH DURING THE WAR, ABOUT THREE FEET BY TWO FEET. PRESUMABLY FROM A SUNKEN MERCHANT SHIP. NOW I COME TO THINK OF IT, MIGHT HAVE BEEN FLOUR!
