Redwood Lifestyle
It is not quite a hotel, restaurant or bar but I did feel the need to have to tell you.
Having relatives coming to stay is normally a joyous occasion. In theory anyhow, especially when they have come from abroad. The lead up to the stay is the un-enjoyable part though. As I struggled to clean and prepare the spare room for their impending stay, as well as juggle the normal household chores, maintain my full time job and continue a relatively normal existence I began to wonder whether it was all worth it and if I should fabricate a story about developing a leak and send them to the nearest hotel. No, they are my relatives and that would be wrong. I must prepare my house to be their hotel. Great.
As I lay all my impending woes on my neighbour about the stresses and strains of making my house look effortlessly clean, clear and welcoming she suggested I look into getting help. Looking through the yellow pages and costing things up, hiring a decorator, cleaner and gardener was just going to be too much. I would have to do it myself. Another advert however caught my eye – Redwood Lifestyle.
I rang them up to enquire and recount my predicament and was pleasantly surprised. The whole concept of Redwood Lifestyle was that they could save me time, they would do the things I had to do so that I could the things that I wanted to do. The need for different people and companies to come in and do my painting, cleaning and gardening was now not necessary as they could send a team of people to do all three! Brilliant!
Later in the week, a day before the impending arrival of the relatives, first thing in the morning, I let a team of people all bearing the Redwood Lifestyle uniform and bearing their identity cards into my home to start on the jobs. I was then free to go and complete my normal daily routine safe in the knowledge that when I returned later that day all the jobs I had been dreading would be complete. And they were.
The garden was spotless with my hedges trimmed, the beds weeded and the flowers been professionally pruned. The house had been aired to rid the obvious evidence of the spare room being repainted; the only evidence that it had been done was the overall ridden worker leaving the house. The house was immaculate with even the skirting boards being cleaned; I could not have done a better job myself.
The relatives arrived and had a great stay and I had a great time having them around. They all commented on how well I did keeping the house and grounds as perfect while also working full time and generally having a life. Little did they know I had the house elves in to do the “dirty work” for me, Redwood Lifestyle? Redwood Life saver more like.
