WHERE: One mile west of Saffron Walden on B1383 (M11 exits 8 or 10)
WALK: Woodland path signposted from the house. Snowdrops in the East Park
WHEN: February 3rd and 4th, 10th and 11th, 17th and 18th - from 11am to 3pm.

Walsingham Abbey

WHERE: Seven miles north of Fakenham
WALK:Carpets of snowdrops mingling with aconites. Just wander in the Abbey grounds and woods (pictured right).
WHEN:February 1st-28th 10am-4pm subject to flowers being out

Fairhaven Garden Trust

WHERE: South Walsham, nine miles east of Norwich, signposted off A47 at B1140 junction
WALK: Three miles of woodland walks include some snowdrops plus camellias, skunk cabbage and early spring wildlife
WHEN:Daily 11am to 5 pm or dusk.

Hedingham Castle, Essex

WHERE:In the village of Castle Hedingham, half a mile from the A1017, between Cambridge and Colchester.
WHEN:February 11,18 and 25 from 11am-4pm. Admission £3.50 for adults, and children under 15 free. There’s a fancy dress competition on February 25 -see website for details.
WALK: The Valley Walk, which is within the grounds, is famous for its snowdrops in February and bluebells in May.

The Place for Plants

WHERE: East Bergholt Place, Suffolk
WHEN: February 2, 10am. Organised in conjunction with the Royal Horticultural Society. Tickets £7.95 for RHS members and £9.95 for non-members. Call 08456121253 or 02078213408 to book.
WALK: Private tour of the 15-acre garden and arboretum to see snowdrops and rare winter flowering trees and shrubs.

Sheringham Park

WHERE: Upper Sheringham; two miles south west of Sheringham, five miles west of Cromer. Entrance at junction of A148 Cromer-Holt road and B1157
WHEN: February; Woodside Visitor Centre open weekends 11am–4pm. Park open daily all year dawn to dusk
WALK: Four waymarked walks; See the Upcher snowdrops at start of main drive, named after the owners who built the hall.
REFRESHMENTS: Meals available at the visitor centre kiosk at weekends. Plenty of places in Sheringham.

Anglesey Abbey

WHERE: At Lode, six miles north east of Cambridge on B1102
WHEN: Gardens open in February Tues-Sun, 10.30am-4.30pm.
WALK: Winter Gardens and Woodland Walk; 180 varieties including one named Anglesey Abbey. Buy snowdrop plants from the shop. Quieter on weekdays; weekends get very busy!
REFRESHMENTS: Restaurant serves brunch, lunches and afternoon teas

Ickworth House

WHERE: In Horringer, three miles south west of Bury St Edmunds on west side of A143
WHEN: Park all year 8am-dusk, Gardens and shop Fri-Tues, 11am-4pm
WALK: Waymarked walks from 1½ to 8 miles. Snowdrops in the gardens and on the shorter walks.
REFRESHMENTS: Restaurant in the West Wing for meals and snacks; open same times as shop and gardens.
